Is it possible to use this to sync 2 computers to play the same music at them same time. I was thinking it would be handy for parties where people are in different rooms, rather than laying speaker cable all over the house just sync up several computers.

VLC can stream to multiple computers.. perhaps look at the source there and use some of that?

(btw, there's a word verification thing, but there's no box to enter it in :S... not without web developer/firebug anyways)

Dezza, did you mean PulseAudio instead of VLC? I think PulseAudio has this kind of capabilities.

BTW, Neil, great work! I'm wondering, is your banshee extension able to work if the user is using a different IM app? Like Pidgin or Galaxium?

The idea is for this extension to work with any Telepathy enabled IM client. There are some small bits that are directly tied to Empathy. But, since Empathy is the only Telepathy enabled client, at the moment, that doesn't really matter too much. However, once Empathy and the extension are ported to Mission Control 5, the extension will work with any Telepathy enabled IM client, if new ones pop up.

I should also mention that currently Telepathy only supports tubes for the Jabber/XMPP protocol. Thus, my extension only supports that protocol.

You made an increadible work on this extention! But, it would be perfect if you can package it ( with PPA for example). So, it would be easier to enjoy it.

Hi Neil,

Good work! Just wonder if your extension is available as .deb for Kubuntu 9.10...
Btw. the fonts in above screenshoots look great. Would you mind let telling us which font it is?

Thank you!

@Anonymous, The font is URW Gothic L Book.

There are no deb packages yet.
